The 36th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition is taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, in September 2026. The SET consortium is thrilled to be attending for the third year in a row and is preparing two insightful and interactive sessions:
Thursday, 10th September, 10:30-12:00 – Poster session: The green travel revolution: How mobility can shape an environmentally responsible Union of Skills (303)
Salome Dermati (EUF) will explain how student mobility is linked with sustainable travel and employability, thanks to the overlap between the skills and attitudes developed through slow travel and the skills most sought after by employers.
Thursday, 10th September, 15:30-16:30 – Roundtable session: Changing tracks: Understanding and guiding sustainable student travel (S8.14)
Salome Dermati (EUF) will join Simone Lepore (President of ESN) in a panel chaired by Chantal Sistek (Movetia). In this interactive session, you will step into a student’s shoes and follow a typical mobility journey. Drawing on insights from the Sustainable Erasmus+ Travel project and different concepts from psychology, we will identify key decision points and develop practical measures to promote sustainable travel behaviour.
You can also find us at the EAIE Sustainability Hub on Wednesday, 9th September at 15:00-15:20 for the “You Learn as You Go: Unlocking the Educational Potential of the Mobility Journey” session. We will present findings from the Sustainable Erasmus Travel project on the competencies strengthened through green travel. This is complemented by a short presentation on the Interrail learning journey, which seeks to induce and measure the learning impact of travelling by train. Attendees will be invited to reconsider the journey not as a footnote to the mobility experience, but as a learning environment in its own right. We will discuss ideas on how to realise this potential at their own institutions and invite perspectives from the audience to further substantiate them into actionable steps.
We look forward to seeing you and discussing green student mobility in Glasgow!
