SET Introduction at CANIE Europe

SET Introduction at CANIE Europe

December 16, 2024

On December 12th, the SET project took centre stage in the CANIE Europe monthly meeting. CANIE is a volunteer grassroots initiative formed by international education practitioners working at the intersection of education and environmental sustainability.

In the interest of promoting green travel to mobile students, Salome Dermati’s presentation highlighted the efforts undertaken under the SET project to make the Erasmus+ programme more environmentally sustainable. By sharing key insights into the recent mobility patterns of Erasmus+ students, participants explored relevant aspects, needs, as well as measures to promote green mobility. They also discussed the added value of green travel by reimagining the journey to the host destination as a transformative experience that fosters personal growth, boosts the development of transversal competencies, and enhances employability prospects.

Upcoming initiatives include a student campaign, preparatory webinars, peer-to-peer workshops, and stakeholder guidelines to promote sustainable travel habits. The presentation stressed the importance of continuous dialogue, positive testimonials, and listening to student feedback to encourage green mobility choices.
