SALTO Green, the Research Centre focused on the green priority in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps, successfully held its first annual conference on green transition and sustainable development on 13-14 October 2026. Hosted at the House of Europe in Paris, the 2-day event brought together more than 100 experts, beneficiaries, and project coordinators from all education sectors and various countries in Europe. It was a truly representative celebration of how horizontal priorities can be translated into bottom-up initiatives that transform lives and organisations, small or big!
On Day 2, Salome Dermati (SET Project Coordinator) contributed to the closing panel on “How to develop green skills for employability in mobility and education programmes?” Among the main messages, participants were introduced to the notion of green travel as an informal learning opportunity to foster a set of transversal and complementary competencies, such as, but not limited to, planning, emotional regulation, environmental values, adaptability, intercultural awareness, digital skills, and critical thinking. They were also presented with the SET Green Competencies Repository and explored how these competencies are validated and recognised in formal and informal ways, through a self-assessment questionnaire, digital badge, diploma supplement, or even ECTS.
We extend our warmest congratulations to the organising team and all speakers who contributed to this historic conference!
